I first developed an interest in photography back in the early 80's when my Dad bought a Minolta X-700 with a 50mm f/1.7 lens. I enjoyed the camera so much that I saved my money and purchased the only zoom lens I could afford, a Vivitar 28-85 f/3.5-4.5 lens. Life got extremely busy soon after with college, marriage, graduate school, kids, post-docs, and career that my photography interests got put on hold for almost 20 years.

When my Dad passed away a few years ago, the old Minolta X-700 resurfaced and found it's way into my hands. While the world had transformed to digital, I found that old film camera calling me back to my youth. I sent it off for a CLA and have been putting it to good use. Having developed an affinity for Minolta film cameras, I have added a Minolta XD-11 and several Minolta prime lenses and zoom lenses to my collection.

While I still enjoy using my film SLR's, I have moved into the digital age with a Nikon D7000. It is a wonderful camera and I find myself shooting either film or digital depending on my mood.

My goal now is to enjoy photography as a true hobby (and stress reliever) and to hopefully see my skills improve over time.
