About the page:

The Tallulah Journal follows the day to day happenings of a fictional small northeastern Georgia town.

Tallulah, in Burton County, is a 1/64 scale diorama. It started in 2016 after being inspired by others online. The layout has changed many times, and will continue to be a dynamic project into the future.

In real life, I work for a Georgia public safety agency. Before that, I worked a short gig as a commercial truck driver. I have also worked as a 911 dispatcher and volunteer firefighter in Sierra County, New Mexico. When I was in high school, I was a corporal with my local sheriff's office Law Enforcement Explorer Program, and a cadet in my high school's Naval JROTC program.

About the layout:

The layout itself is constructed of plywood supported by pieces of different sized lumber. I also have one modular diorama, which is a public safety complex. The modular unit is constructed from a thin sheet of plywood, topped by foam board. I use a wide range of paints, papers, adhesives, plastics, and other materials to create my scenes. Most of the structures are hand built. All of the vehicles are diecast ~1/64 scale models. I use many brands of diecast vehicles, such as Greenlight, Johnny Lightning, SpecCast, ERTL, Hot Wheels, Matchbox, and more. In addition to building the layout, I also enjoy customizing the diecast vehicles.

About the setting (Fictional history of Fallen Pine/Tallulah, GA and Burton County):

Burton County is located in the northeastern part of the state of Georgia. It was formed from southern Rabun, and northern Habersham counties. Burton County is named for the now defunct town of Burton, Georgia. In 1919, the Tallulah River was dammed at Burton by the Georgia Power Company. The Lake Burton Dam now creates hydroelectric power for the region. Fallen Pine was founded near Lake Burton by early settlers. In 2016, state route 156 was rerouted near the community, and Fallen Pine became a city. The next year, the name changed to Tallulah, which refers to the Tallulah River.
