I first picked up an SLR when I was about 14 I think. Can't remember what it was, all I remember is that it was stolen pretty soon after that, but I got a Ricoh KR-10M on the insurance money! Pentax K-mount lenses and manual focus. It taught me an awful lot about the basics of photography, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, depth of field etc.

Since then I've had a couple of Pentax film SLRs before I went onto digital. (I've still got one of the Pentax SLRs, and occasionally when I'm feeling sentimental I stick a roll of film in it and take it out with me. Then the cost of processing reminds me why I went digital!).

I've been taking my photography seriously for the last 8 years now, and have been shooting with Nikon DSLRs for the last three years now. The Frame counter on my trusty old D80 went round the clock four times and I decided to upgrade to the the D700. That was four years ago now and its still going strong.

I shoot weddings occasionally, so if you're interested see my website below for more details.
