Having been born and raised in Alexandria, VA, I’m glad to call the nation’s capitol, Washington D.C., my home.
Despite the local roots, you can call me a “transplant,” having returned here after graduating from the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Conn. (where I was Editor-in-Chief of the school newspaper, The Informer, and held an internship with the Hartford Courant).
Throw in a summer 2012 study abroad session in London (where I also held an internship), and a four-month backpack trip around Europe (including the Camino de Santiago hike) with an old high school friend after finishing college, I like to think I am a pretty driven and adventurous guy.
Staying fit and healthy are important to me, as well as staying up to date with what is going on in the world. We’ve all got so many things going on, I find it helps to get through it all to take care of ourselves and be informed. We can also say we look good and call ourselves “smart,” which doesn’t hurt😉.
If you’ve got a story , I’d love to hear about it (whatever it may be) and share it with others, as part of a “mission to civilize” (help people become aware of things that they might not normally become otherwise and look at the world in a different way).
Until then, please enjoy these examples of how a written story can impact the (your) world!
