Back in the late 1960's, I purchased my first SLR camera. It was a Pentax K1000 with a 50mm lens. I still have that camera and occasionally take it out for a shoot. Later in life, while visiting Japan, I picked up a Yashica Electro AX (although I still have it, I do not use it much).

In the late 1980's, as the digital revolution began to take a secure hold, I purchased my first DSLR. It was a 3-megapixel Samsung (long gone) and since then, have had any number of digital cameras from Konica/Minolta, Olympus, Pentax, etc.

In 2012, I retired from my full-time job in engineering and, was finally able to exercise my more creative juices. Although I have absorbed much about cameras, lenses, photography and Photoshop since, I still consider myself an amateur.

I typically photograph landscapes, cityscapes, interiors, etc. When people are my subject, I prefer spontaneity so, I do not usually do portraiture or weddings.

I like my photography to be detailed, colorful and, make a statement or tell a story.

When I shoot a tree, I want the veins in the leaves and the gnarly bark to impress themselves upon the casual observer.

I currently exhibit in the Member's Gallery at the Art Center of Corpus Christi, Texas and have participated, and won an award, in numerous juried exhibitions including the Art Museum of South Texas.
