I have been lucky to get to know both her and her photographs, and both are warm, vibrant, intelligent and above all else fun. She is both technically and compositionally skilled, and has amassed an impressive collection of really top quality images that it is a pleasure to peruse on her website. She, and hubby Scott are also great fun to shoot with, never afraid to shag a statue, or climb into a lake full of snakes just to get that perfect shot!!!!

She is a breath of fresh, Ausie air here in Dayton, Ohio which sometimes can get, well, a bit predictable and monotonous, particularly as it applies to us artistic types. She showers everyone with complements through comments, favorites and (this one blew me away) buying prints of my and others photographs to hang on her wall... I mean, wow... More than anyone I have ever met on Flickr, she has made me feel like more than an amateur photographer. As soon as I see that she has visited I can't wait to read her comments. Sam (a.k.a cowdoogits), for me, represents the generous soul of flickr. she loves to take photographs, but even more, she loves to share them. forget tags, forget groups, forget explorer stats. Sam is in it for the point and the shoot -- and the joy. and while she claims to have a lot to learn, i have found too many photos on her stream that just blow me away. especially the portraits. she genuinely loves people, and you can see it in her portraiture. rarely do you find subjects (real people, not models) looking so relaxed and natural. you can see beyond their skin and bones to their very personalities. that's a rare achievement in photography, one which can only be achieved when a subject feels so comfortable around his photographer -- so befriended by her -- that he drops all of his defenses. disarming -- that's what Sam is. get to know her and she will disarm you, too, with her warmth, her friendliness, and her sincerity. from australia to ohio, she is knee-deep in the adventure of life -- and she would just "crap her dacks" if you didn't come along for the ride. (and, if you're really nice, she'll call you darlingheart) ;)
