I started volunteering to shoot events for shawnee in 2016. I was looking for some kind of volunteer work to do. I live in Overland Park and started to call them. I saw online that Shawnee had things you could volunteer for. I called and talked to a wonderful person (Elizabeth Griffith) and since I was a photographer she said yes come in and get set up to shoot some city events. The rest is history as they say. I shoot between 10-15 events a year. From day one I have LOVED doing this. I found out real quick how NICE and FRIENDLY all Shawnee people were. It has been a real pleasure shooting photos for people who couldn't make it to the events on their own. It was slow at first people getting on and looking at my photos. It did pick up after awhile though. I actually had thought about quitting. I loved doing it so much though that I decided that if only one person looked and loved what they saw it was well worth it.
