I've been on Flickr for 12 years now so I figured maybe I should actually write something here. Well actually there was something here, but during one of Flickr's many changes it seems to have disappeared. I've been shooting for over 50 years now and still haven't arrived at the point where I am anywhere near satisfied with my work. When I started on Flickr it was a different place. It was inhabited mostly by people focused on photography who wanted to share, learn and maybe even show off. Things have changed as all things do.
In the beginning I was voracious about getting views and faves and comments. I joined groups and competed in contests and savored every fave, somewhere along the way I started meeting people and making friends and that became more important to me. It is important to me that people understand that I don't fave for the sake of faving, I don't gather followers so I can brag about how many "friends" I have. I stopped joining groups for the sake of getting views. I appreciate people following me very much but I wont follow you just because you followed me. Please don't be insulted, it isn't personal. To me faving is a Facebook phenomenon that grew out of "liking". I never joined Facebook and refuse to follow that path. I have limited my "Following" to 50 people, many of whom are very, very special to me some even have left Flickr over the years but I value them enough to keep them there in the hope they will return. I value comments far more then anything else on Flickr as a result I try to comment on almost every picture that is posted by a friend. That is hard to do, that is why I keep my followed people to a manageable limit. If I fave you, it means I really , really like your shot and want to visit it again.
If you have read this far, thank you, you're my kind of people!

Cory's photo stream is a real treat to visit. He has a wide variety of subjects that he has done a wonderful job presenting to us. But one of the things I like best about Cory is his sense of humor. He can make me spit coffee all over the place sometimes with the things he comes up with. This can be a problem sometimes :-)) I also love his pictures of Scout, his faithful German shepherd. It was actually his pictures of Scout that attracted me to his stream initially. Anyone who has a love for his dog, especially when that dog is a GSD, is okay in my book. Keep on shooting Cory, and being your wonderful wacky self. I love it.
