Hello World, i work as a photographer based out of Honolulu, Hawaii. Happy to assist, consult on any photographic project big or small.
i am an enigma. a paradox. whoa. just joking !
new paradigms await all of us. ichi go ichi e !
my current passion is to create tools. photographic tools, lenses, machined and or hand made. also, ceramic / yakimono tools. cocobolo ribs, specialized trimming tools, one offs. etc.
i love to travel, drink fantastic wines (syrah, shiraz, petit syrah, zins, bordeaux, tempranillo, ripassa, brunello, burgundy ), enjoy WONDERful Nihonshu (sake) and enjoy SCRUMPTIOUS FOOD. i love nihonshu, double fermented rice wine. koshino kambai cho tokusen, masumi yumedono, Masumi nanago, Masumi Sanka, minotouya tousuke (niigata), okunomatsu, Mu, and MORE !
One of my photographic philosophies is to 'put the viewer where he or she cannot be'. in short, in this competitive photographic market there are two key factors that finesses the image, light and vision. the ability to give a 'view' or perspective that hasn't been 'seen' before affords the photograph/s to transcend normality and mediocrity.
My photographs have appeared in: The New York Times, Corbis, Getty, The International Herald Tribune, Readers Digest, The Los Angeles Times, The San Francisco Chronicle and more. thanks for looking !

Recently, i have been studying tea ( cha no yu).
Carpe Diem ! Sadly, most of my current work needs to sit a while until the publications that hired me run the photographs, so apologies ahead for the time embargo. thanks for looking ! Please view my latest ceramic creations.
Been reading an excellent book by Sogyal Rinpoche called "The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying". excerpt from the book. 'The Great Deception' by Chuang Tzu. "The birth of a man is the birth of his sorrow. The longer he lives, the more stupid he becomes, because his anxiety to avoid avoidable death becomes more and more acute. What bitterness ! He lives for what is always out of reach! His thirst for survival in the future makes him incapable of living in the present." Carpe Diem ! hehe

Read lesscory's as interesting as one can find ... all his work is mesmerizing ... sublime ... life already filled with events and people that others only read about ... or imagine ... if i could, i'd buy him guinness and sake until he ran out of stories ... seriously ...
Humble, focused, and extremely talented. It's pleasure viewing his work page for page.
Cory has a great eye for colorful beauty and world lifestyles. I share his journalism background and interest in naturalness in his photos. He is very deserving of his acclaim, and from every indication I've seen, he seems quite a nice person, too.
Mr. Cool himself. I really admire your work!
I can't believe that Lum-sensei does not have another testimonial. I've only had the pleasure of meeting him once, but he seems like an amazing artist on clay, film and whatever media he decides to play with. He is a true artist, but is also a gentleman with a great sense of humor.
