Have been a keen amateur naturalist and photographer for a long time and got my first camera when I was about 13, a little instamatic Boots own brand!

I had a 35mm film compact camera for years and loved taking photos of my daughter as she's grew up. I progressed to a DSLR (Nikon D40) in January 2009 specifically to take to Norway in February of that year to hopefully get some good photos of the Northern Lights. I also joined the Furness Foto Group at the same time to get some tips on how to use the camera! Joining the group encouraged me to get out and take photos of more than just my family and holiday snaps! I later progressed to a Canon EOS 7D with a EFS 18-135mm IS kit lens and 100mm f2.8L IS macro lens. I attended University and completed my degree study at Falmouth Uni in Cornwall 2014 and gained a BA (Hons) degree in Marine & Natural History Photography with a 2:1 upper division classification.

Since leaving Uni I have added the Canon 70-200mm f 2.8 MK11, 1.4x MK3 converter and 24-70mm f2.8 to my kit bag.

I'm enjoying all aspects of photography, especially the wildlife side of it and wish that I had taken it up years ago :o)
