Tucson based Copper Canyon Trails (www.coppercanyontrails.org), with a locally sourced crew from the Sierra Tarahumara of Chihuahua, offers an 8-day package focusing on a 6-day burro-supported hike from the train stop at Divisadero. We have three routes, the most popular being the hike down 5000 feet to wild Urique River. With burros carrying gear, we can enjoy a leisurely hiking pace carrying only a daypack. These photos are mostly highlights of our years in the area, but some are from our own travels; we love canyons and rivers! With our bilingual guided tours, you can experience the heartwarming culture of the indigenous RaramurĂ, and the incredible geology and topography of steep, mile-deep canyons leading to free-flowing scenic rivers. Go guided, or at least go- and educate yourself on this fast changing region. Canyon cultures worldwide share a common bond that we hope to share with you.
