Over the last few years Photography has taken over from being a hobby to becoming a passion and I hope to reflect that on my pictures.
My main motivator was joining a camera club (Conwy CC) and being exposed to some very good Photography helped me to specifically understand the basic rules of what not to do!
Looking back on images taken a few years ago it shows me how I have developed my Photography...starting with landscapes, playing with macro, having a go at high speed images, smoke trails, burning light bulbs, portraits, milky water shots...some of it may be cliché but it is something that you, as a photographer, need to try yourself as part of your journey.
I believe that the artistic process that drives you to point the camera at a particular scene or set up a shot does not end when you press the shutter. It carries on during the processing of the image...decisions like, cropping, saturation, colour vs black & white, vignetting and removing overhead cables for instance, are all tools available to us in order to create the image we want the viewer to see.
A word of thanks to you for taking the time to look at my images, I do make an effort to look at others work and if I have some time to add my comments. Feedback is particularly welcome.
