COMPASS is a Merseyside-based charity that provides qualified accredited counselling services. This is a vital service to the people of Merseyside : helping those suffering from depression and anxiety, bereavement, the effects of childhood abuse, relationship problems and stress – often caused by the deprivation of inner city living.

Established in 1978, COMPASS has a reputation for the highest quality counselling provision and teaching programmes and a longstanding tradition of serving the community in which it operates. It is not complacent about the need to develop and innovate in the current challenging environment in which all Civil Society organisations operate.

COMPASS has a growing SOCIAL ENTERPRISE initiative based upon its workplace support service and training course provision to the sector. It has embarked upon a target-led social impact driven business plan that will substantially reduce its historic dependency upon conventional funding sources over a three to five year period – effective start 2011.
