Compai is a crafty, green design studio dedicated to creative projects that employ recycled materials.

Compai was born in Florence, Italy in 2002 when California natives (and sisters) Faith and Justina Blakeney opened a boutique. Faith and Justina quickly made a name for themselves as the specialists in the rehabilitation of used and abused clothing. In 2004 they launched their first clothing collection. By 2005 they self-published their first book “99 Ways To Cut, Sew, Trim And Tie Your T-Shirt Into Something Special.” After selling out of the self-published edition (200 copies in just 2 days!), the book was purchased by Potter Craft, a division of Random House, and has since developed into a series. “99 Ways To Cut, Sew And Deck Out Your Denim” came out in 2007, and “99 Ways To Cut, Sew, Tie And Rock Your Scarf” in March 2008. COMPAI designs have been published and exhibited worldwide and have appeared on NBC’s The Today Show, on the pages of publications like Vogue, Glamour, Sportswear International and the San Francisco Chronicle—
