Communities Rising is a non-profit organization that promotes and supports village based education in rural India.

Objectives:

Working to ensure that all students complete primary school.

Increasing high school graduation rates for village students.

Providing academic assistance in key subject areas such as math, English and computers.

Starting lending libraries in schools and villages.

Providing enrichment courses in art and music.

Building student confidence through athletic and leadership programs.

Providing educational and vocational direction.

Providing returning students with academic skills and self-confidence needed to re-enter traditional schools or enter the workforce.

Increasing women’s literacy rates.
