Who am I?
I'm Alex.
I'm Flickr addicted!
I'm a 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 years old man.
I'm from Paris, France.
I'm an amateur photographer since the end of 2007.
I'm a PhD student at Ecole des Mines de Paris' Robotics Laboratory working on ADAS / ISA.
I'm a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science, Robotics and Mathematics (my thesis [fr], one of my paper [en]).
I'm a research engineer for a GPS manufacturer (working on embedded graphical user engine).
I'm an IT-Quantitative analyst.
Why taking pictures?
Why not?
Which equipment do I use?
I don't use any digital camera anymore (but perhaps again in the future if Pentax will build a full frame reflex...).
I have a lot of full manual film cameras :
- Zenit 11
- Zenit 12
- Ricoh KR-10
- Ricoh KR-10
- Chinon CE-4
- Pentax 1000
- Pentax LX
- Mamiya C330s
- Polaroid
I have a lot of lenses for all theses Pentax K-mount cameras:
- fish eye 16mm
- wild angle 28mm,
- 40mm pancake,
- 50mm
- 70
- 120
- 200
- 500
(I have only a 80mm lense for my c330s camera).
A lot of filters (UV, Polarizer, Yellow, Orange, Red, Green);
And some cool gadget (focal length multiplier,...)
Ok, this is a lot of stuff!
But I'm now using principally my Pentax LX with a 28mm lense.
Which software do I use?
I'm using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom just for some pos-treatments to enhance contrasts, luminosity,...
Some example (before/after):

About flickr awards...
There are many groups on flickr that distribute awards, each one of them being bigger and flashier than the other. At the end such awards have no value because there is so many and anybody can give one. At the end all of this tends to make no sense. And a big image flashing on a picture's page distract readers from the very picture. So be warned, awards on my stream will most probably get removed.
Any other interests?
Yes!
I play badminton (only for fun, no competition,...) since last years.
I like to read (see some of my read books) lot of books (poems, sciences,...) specially into the subway.
Thanks
A huge thank you to Thomas Claveirole for my first pro account, advices and to let me discover some film cameras.
