There is nothing original in my photos - every photograph I've ever admired has been rehashed somehow, somewhere. Flickr has made a big difference to my photography: admiring the work of others has led me to shooting subjects and trying techniques I would never have thought of previously.
I love capturing things I see just as much as when i began, 30-odd years ago.
I'm fond of macro photos but am liable to snap anything that gets my attention: I'm always on the look out for my next 'good' photo but I don't take it too seriously: I know when I've got a good shot 'in the bag' but don't mind showing snapshots or those which aren't technically perfect if there's a story attached; if that's all I could get, or they make me laugh.
Photographers whose work I enjoy
Those I know or knew personally:
Gerry Broughton FRPS - the head of photography whilst I was studying at Southfields College.
Greg Lucas - a fellow, but far more talented, student at Southfields; now senior lecturer in photography at De Montfort University, Leicester.
Cherry Thompson - a model turned photographer, who was the first 'tog' I know of to use macro lenses in pin-up photography.
