I use Flicker for my experiments.

Currently I am experimenting with mobile apps, seeing what they can do with ordinary photos.

There has got to be some point to all those filters, right?

 

Otherwise I am known for my sports photography.

Mostly rugby, but horse riding, lacrosse... anything that moves.

Update! I'm into bagpipe bands now, so don't be surprised to see a lot of content along those lines. Funny enough, those photos may be taken by others, as I'm playing, not shooting. Nonetheless, it's my camera and my editing (specifically, editing me OUT) so I'll take claim of these.

Yikes! my original profile sounds so ... stern! I'm not really like that, but it DOES describe me, so I'll leave it here.

I'm into photography as a techie looking to use techie skills to capture the joy that surrounds us. That doesn't mean I know anything about art, or have any artistic sensibilities, so I'm finding that translating a beautiful moment to a beautiful photograph is harder than I had imagined.

Nonetheless, the journey is fun so, as long as I don't have any ambitions to be a queen of Interestingness, I will continue to post things here.

 

About the technical details, well, they are all hinted at in the old profile below.

 

Did I mention that I like traveling? I think I use photography as an excuse to travel. Then, whatever I found on my travels, I try to find that same sensibility at home, becoming a tourist in my own home town. Fun!

I'm old enough to be your mother, thank you for asking.

However, I find great happiness in being a great aunt to my sisters' kids.

Professionally, I'm a computer professional who's forgotten more technical jargon than you'll ever know.

Other interesting things -

I'm an INTP. If you know what that means I want to hear from you. No fair guessing. You have to *know*.

Also an IAP. That one's somewhat ambiguous, so guesses are OK.

I learned photography from my father, and played with my grandfather's cameras when I was a kid, so cameras and I go way back. That doesn't mean I'm any good, just old.
