Hi, I'm Chris a 36 year old rail enthusiast from Liverpool, Merseyside. My main interests are Class 08/09 Shunters and Class 86 and Class 90 electrics. Having become a little tired of the railscene of late, I've been spending more time capturing images of buses. I grew up living in front of British Rail's (Later RFD, EWS, DBS, Northern..) Allerton TMD and my back garden backed on to the old scrap line at the depot. I believe this is where my fondness for the Humble Class 08/09 Shunter began. In 2014 I invested in a digital SLR and began taking pictures of the Merseyside rail scene, mainly focusing on the Freightliner operations out of Garston FLT and the nearby Ditton FLT. With GBRf's emergence as perhaps the most pro-active railfreight operator in the area (and perhaps the UK) the traffic of automotive and biomass has provided many more photo opportunities. I've now moved to Warrington, Cheshire and tend to focus my efforts more on the Cheshire Rail Scene these days, catching the Liverpool Bound/Departures as they make their way through Cheshire. Favorite locations include Acton Bridge, Winwick Junction, Daresbury and the unbeatable Redbank located just north of Weaver Junction. I travel the country from top to bottom in search of Gronks and can strongly recommend the excellent Shunterspot website (www.tapatalk.com/groups/shunterspot/) which is free to join and is a wealth of information relating to anything Shunter related.
