I am 60 and have been fortunate to have traveled a bit, and still often do. Most of it is for work, though. My pictures tend to gravitate toward auto racing and the ocean. Probably my two deepest obsessions. I take the pictures for me and my enjoyment, and I have for some time.

A few of years ago, I started concentrating on shooting short track racing. I also have been known to shoot some of the goings on up in Speedway, Indiana in late May, as well.

I have had several cameras. My favorite film cameras were a Canon AE-1 (stolen) and a Minolta X-700 (my daughter's now). These days, most of my shooting was with a Nikon D-70s; however I have been shooting with a D-300 since December of '08. I really like the 300, especially for low light shooting which is a good thing when shooting at most of the race tracks I visit. This year, I have upgraded to a D-800. Wow. I am still getting a feel for it, but it is certainly a step ahead of the "old" D-300.

When I am traveling for work, that Nikons generally stays at home, and I use my Canon point and shoot work camera.

Work pictures don't end up here, unless they are very old. When I am traveling for work, I do try and take a few shots that I can put up on flickr, sort of as a journal for me as my memory fades, and for the family, should they choose to see what the old man does.

Please, make your comments. It is always good to get some feedback.
