I am a ceramic artist, potter, pottery teacher and singer living in Wilmington, NC. I have been exploring art and creative pursuits for, well, never mind for how long! After studying pottery under Hiroshi Sueyoshi and Dina Wilde-Ramsing for four years, I assembled my own studio and got to work. It's now been well over ten years of shows, exhibitions, galleries and teaching.

I work with both decorative and functional forms, glazed and burnished. I prefer to work in porcelain, but also produce functional ware from white and brown clay bodies. I would characterize my pottery as being organically inspired and calming to the senses. I love to play with asymmetrical balance, allowing each piece of porcelain to tell me how it will evolve into its finished shape. Each work expresses fluid movement, or sometimes a growth path, often inspired by details of the human form and the human story.Since my goal is to achieve both visual and tactile beauty, my smaller pieces are intended to encourage holding. The color and texture of their buffed surfaces are inspired by stones, weathered wood, seashells, marble, leather and bird eggs.

My work is in both private and corporate collections across the country and around the world. I only wish I could visit the countries my vessels are in! I have won awards in regional and national juried exhibitions and been awarded regional art grants. I currently work and teach out of my home in a studio I share with my husband, Tracy.
