I've been messing around with cameras since I was a child, when I found my first vintage point-and-shoot at a garage sale. Trying to learn how to shoot like a pro with my beat-up Zenit-B and, later, a used Pentax K-1000 (one of the early metal ones) was the kind of fun I found hard to explain to others.

Now I have a fancy DSLR and a bagful of lenses, but I still love to go out with my favourite wide-angle prime. or show up at a party with a portrait lens, or generally just mess about like I was 10-years old all over again.

My style tends to candid portraits, macro and wide-angle landscape and architectural shots.

I shoot mostly digital with my Nikon D80. I typically choose to just put on a favourite prime and go. Now that I have an S-M-R-T phone, I admit that a lot of my photography is family snaps on my Blackberry Priv. The camera you have with you is the most important one, right?

For my travel photos I wouldn't dream of leaving my 18-200mm zoom at home, since it replaces a whole bag of glass to help me travel light.

For post-production and digital asset management I use Adobe Lightroom.
