Fellow photographers...

I know we all value our privacy, some more than others. That said, it is very disconcerting to view beautiful photos without a hint of where they were taken. I would love it if somewhere, maybe in the tags if not the description, give a clue as to location! Photo titles are also much appreciated and make viewing all that more enjoyable.

I find myself following more people than I can keep up with -- but I don't want to un-follow anyone either! That said, please know that while I do so enjoy the images of those I follow there just isn't time to comment as I would like.

A great big thank you to all who view, select favorites, comment. AND... to all who just view and hopefully enjoy. Beauty is to be shared and all of creation belongs to all.

------------------------------------

I am a serious amateur photographer with great interest in wildlife. I've not been able to devote as much time to photography as in days gone by, but get out to shoot whenever possible.

I am continually delighted by nature and wildlife. There is always something new and different if we only take time to see. The challenge is to capture the 'sighting' on film or card and reproduce that for others to appreciate as well.

As for "manipulation" of photos, I regard the use of photo editing software as the digital darkroom -- doing much the same as film photographers do in the chemical darkroom. Manipulation is, to me, the changing of the elements in a photo... adding to or subtracting from the original. Changing color to B/W is a darkroom function, removing a person or putting in a person or object is manipulation. Just a personal opinion! Concerning AI: I will not have AI generate a photo and then pass it off as one I have created with my camera. I love the creative process -- and I don't see my self as being in competition with anyone. I always want to be a better photographer -- for myself. I will enjoy your pictures and I hope you will enjoy mine. I will likely learn from your photos -- and for that, I thank you.

Many of my photos are hi-res... many are not. I generally shoot in 'RAW' and the usual digital "darkroom" adjustments are done in the Camera Raw filter of Adobe Photoshop CC (Have used Photoshop since the 2005 version). My primary camera is a Nikon D3200, most often used with a 75-300lens. I also have Canon Powershot SX60HS which is currently not working. An Additional camera: a Nikon CoolPix L5 (point and shoot) which comes in handy for macro work... especially the unplanned and unexpected!

I will not download/use your photos without contacting you for permission. I ask that you extend the same courtesy to me -- please contact me to license or for permission to use.

Thank you for viewing!
