I live in Central Illinois - which can be described as flat - with lots of farms - mainly corn, soybeans and wind (you know – the big white wind turbines – I did say it was flat). I have been involved in photography off and on pretty much my whole life. I started at the age of 8 when I joined 4-H. My dad was already a photographer and did mainly Weddings and Ariel photography at the time (He had his pilot’s license and a plane- hence Ariel Photography). I wanted a camera – instead of a fun purple 35 mm point in shoot – I inherited one of his canon 35mm SLRs – that was 100% manual. The first couple of years I shot in black & white and developed my own film & print in the basement in a darkroom. When I got to upgrade to color film, send it out to get processed – and just do my own B&W prints with panalure paper – I though I died and went to heaven! Oh how times have change – now I am 100% digital (And now have switched to Nikon) and instead of smelling like a darkroom I spend hours in front of a computer. I enjoy a lot of different areas of photography – from Landscapes, Architecture, People, Macro and Still Life. Lets just say – I am not really sure what my style is – but as long as your are having fun, that is all that matters!
