I'm Dan, currently 17 but obviously getting older each day! I like to think of myself as a student and Semi-Professional Photographer at the same time...

My life revolves around both photography and rock climbing. I've been climbing since i was 4, so 13 years now and it's all I ever think about. Having climbed all over the UK, as well as a few international destinations, such as Spain's Costa Blanca, has provided me with some truly amazing photographic opportunities. Although climbing photography is where my true passion lies I'm also very active in landscape photography. However, I'm constantly seeking to broaden my photographic horizons, hence I'm keen and interested in all types of photography. Although the mountain environment is where I feel most at home, I'm enjoying shooting people more and more and it's something I plan to pursue in future.

Me

When i say "student and semi-professional photographer at the same time" what I guess I mean is that I'm a full time student, whilst also making money from my photography.

I am in the middle of my A-levels, in which I am studying, Maths, Physics and Chemistry - Nothing too tricky ;) Although all three of these subjects require me to work incredibly hard I love it.

On top of my studies I am also making money from photography, with photos being published in newspapers, climbing club journals and magazines, as well as being used on private websites.

In addition I have a lot of work lined up and ready to be published over the next few months. First, I am heavily involved with writing a new 600 page guidebook to the rock climbing around my home town of Glossop, Near Manchester (UK), in which I will have between 20 and 30 photos. We hope to have this in shops by Easter. I also have photos to be published in guidebooks to other areas around the UK in the coming months.

Most exciting however, is the fact that I have written a magazine article for an international climbing magazine, Climber. This will be 8 pages long and published in early February 2012. Exciting times!

Thanks for taking an interest in my photography, feel free to drop me an email if you've got any questions and i'll do my best to answer them, or have a look at my website.

Finally, I'm always keen to make new friends in the photography world. If you live somewhere close to Manchester or the Peak District, again, feel free to drop me an email and we'll go shoot some images.

Happy Snapping

Dan
