I am an DAV (Disabled American Veteran) with injuries received overseas in support of my country through 22 years of service in the U. S. Navy. I feel fortunate to be better off then many others who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. I have been taking photographs for over thirty years as a hobby and also in support of the U .S. Navy here and overseas. These days as a struggling semi-pro. Photography is not just an outlet to me it is also Spiritual. Sometimes I feel part of what I am taking photo's of. It's hard to stay objective and detached whenever you are there with your subjects because no matter what you do (as long as you are human) it's hard to distance yourself from those subjects and remain an observer. Photography also helps to preserve events, historical places and buildings and most of all people that we know or have known in our lives, things that we sometimes take for granted. As our older historical barns, farms, buildings, boats, aircraft etc. disappear I believe it is important to document these through my photography for future generations to appreciate and enjoy. I hope you enjoy my photo's and if you some how receive some enrichment or enjoyment from my photo's then I have made the world just a little better place to live and I too have become better for it.
