I am a Brisbane-based entomologist working on the taxonomy of Australian Cleridae. I joined flickr to share photos of live clerids and other beetles in their habitat as well as high resolution images of identified clerids from my collection.

I have also uploaded some images of non-Australian clerids that I have been unable to identify to species or genus. These are located in my 'Unidentified specimens' set. If you recognise any of these species, please add a comment or leave me a message.

I am interested to hear from anyone who has photographed Australian clerid beetles in their habitat. If you would like the clerid in your photo identified just send me a message and I'll do my best. Likewise, if you have specimens in your collection that you are unable to identify, I'd also like to hear from you.

Note:

All high-res images are of specimens from my personal collection.

All images of live beetles were photographed by me with an Olympus C-70 digital camera.

Clerid classification:

For convenience, the arrangement of clerid genera into subfamilies follows Kolibac (2010). I will endeavour to keep the nomenclature updated as new information is made available.
