Born and raised in Athens Greece, Mr. Papadopoulos moved to Bristol in 1980 where he earned a degree in Engineering Mathematics from the University of Bristol. He went on to study at the London School of Economics and Political Science, completing a master’s degree in Operations Research in 1985.

Mr. Papadopoulos worked for Seascope Insurance Services in London for a year and then completed his education with an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.. He graduated in 1991 and quickly moved into high ranking positions in the London financial industry.

Cleon Papadopoulos began his career working as an Interest Rate Derivatives Trader for Security Pacific National Bank. In 1992, he became director in the London branch of Swiss Bank Corporation (SBC) and stayed with the company throughout 8 years of growth. Mr. Papadopoulos was promoted to Executive Director when SBC acquired a prominent British investment firm, S. G. Warburg & Co. He kept this positon when SBC merged with the second largest Swiss bank, Union Bank of Switzerland, three years later to form UBS. The new UBS AG became one of the largest financial institutions in the world, with over US$ 1 trillion in assets.

Mr. Papadopoulos worked for UBS AG until 2000 after which he went to Greece to first advise high net worth individuals and to then become Chairmen and CEO of Hellenic Postbank. He left Hellenic Postbank in 2013 to return to London, where he currently works as a director for Alfa Ltd.

In his spare time, Mr. Papadopoulos is an enthusiastic tennis fan, a passion he shares which his ten year old son. He participates in a senior league while his son plays competitively. Both enjoy watching the Wimbledon Tournament. Mr. Papadopoulos lives in London, but likes travelling to his native Greece as well as other parts of Europe.
