In 2013, I finally got to meet Marc personally. He's just as great of a guy as I thought he'd be. I feel a bond with him in that we love a lot of the same things, photographically, a lot of the same subjects. I rarely get the time to spend and explore the Los Angeles area, but I really enjoyed taking a cruise with him on my last trip there. I can only hope that before too long, I'll be able to spend more time searching out stuff to photograph with him. I'm often amazed at the subjects that Marc finds to shoot, and with how he presents them to our eye. He's like some ethereal photographic ghost that seems to float from one subject to another. Even though his work sometimes leaves me feeling like I have no idea what *I'M* doing, it's always interesting, never pompous, never overbearing. (At least not that I've seen) Marc, I'm glad to know you, I'm glad we finally had a chance to meet in person. We'll always be friends in my book. Oh, and our birthdays are one day apart, which is kinda cool too. :-)

When I see signs and neon, I invariably think of Marc's work. I adore his style, and I admire his love for nature and people and music and all the good in life captured in his photography. It has been one of my flickr and personal highlights meeting Marc and spending time shooting with him, chatting, laughing, dining, and especially hugging such a wonderfully friendly and kind person. Marc is and will always be a dear friend to me. I have seen and met the light-- and it was good!
