The images uploaded in my album sets are a working catalogue of British public sculpture from the years 1660-1735. In my current role as a postdoctoral researcher for the AHRC funded project, 'Court, Country, City: British Art, 1660-1735', I am working on public sculpture, and it has struck me how few recent online images there are of such works. It is hoped the images added to this site will go some way towards making these important artworks more accessible.

For the purposes of these albums I am understanding public sculpture as including all statues erected in the streets and squares of Britain during the years of the Restoration to the early Hanoverian period. In cases where statues have been moved, I have given details both of original and current location. Statues appear on the map according to their current location. Where applicable I have also provided the relevant link to Ingrid Roscoe's freely available online biographical dictionary of sculptors in Britain, 1660-1851.
