Photography is a habit (obsession?) that I acquired as a child, in 4-H, but have returned to only recently in a serious way. I'll admit to not being much of an artist. I'm sure I lost any talent I once might have had when I opted to concentrate my life on the science of electricity, first, and, later, on democracy and its (at best) ambivalent relations with science (see my group: Science and Democracy). Too many of my photos are merely documentary. Nonetheless, I find that I can sometimes capture a moment in a meaningful, or beautiful, way, and I rejoice.
