Getting back into photography after 45 years away. From a Minolta 1?(my fathers) and my own Minolta SRT101 (in the '70s) to a modern DSLR. Much changes, but the physics stays the same.

In the fall of '09, we took a 2 week vacation to Scotland. I took these pictures of the castle ruins with a P&S camera. But Scotland is too immense, and at the same time, too cozy for that camera. We are going back this fall on a photo trek of the highlands. All of this is training and practice for that trip.

Now, after a year of shooting, and reading; I am starting to understand what 'my style' just might be.

I pick favorites for 1 of 2 reasons. Either it is an image that makes me hand stop when flicking through "Explore", or it uses a technique I need to understand (if not learn).

There is just not enough time to learn it all and still make the house payment.
