El Festival de Granada Cines del Sur tiene como objetivo la difusión y promoción de las cinematografías de los países adscritos al Sur geopolítico. Producciones fílmicas (asiáticas, africanas e iberoamericanas) que difícilmente cuentan con espacios de distribución y exhibición, encuentran en Cines del Sur una plataforma de difusión.

El Festival de Granada Cines del Sur se celebra anualmente. Su próxima edición tendrá lugar del 13 al 20 de Junio del 2009.

The aim of the Granada Film Festival "Cines del Sur" ("Cinemas from the South") is to disseminate and promote films made in the countries of the so-called geopolitical south. Thus, the Festival will provide a space for the meeting of both young filmmakers and established talents from these countries, allowing for the screening of both new productions and emblematic and historic works. The Festival will be the platform for an annual meeting of films coming from the South.

The Granada Film Festival 'Cines del Sur' will be held annually, having designated the Third Edition of the Festival by 13th-20th June, 2009.
