ABOUT ME

I have always enjoyed drawing and painting ever since I was a small child. Having survived a nomadic childhood during my most formative years in a very concentrated space of time, my father’s service in the Airforce suddenly terminated due to illness and having to begin a new career, and my disrupted schooling, I have always sought solace through art. I finished my foundation course at Epsom School of Art in 1992, then graduated from Harrow School of Art in 1995 with a BA Honours degree in Illustration. I continue to pursue art as a career and take part in a number of exhibitions in Surrey, London and Malta, sell work internationally, have won a number of awards for drawing and painting and have also been shortlisted as a finalist at the National Gallery for the World Aids Awareness Day Competition.

ABOUT MY ART

My work is an eclectic mix of figurative and decorative Art-Nouveau fantasy with organic and architectural elements. I work using a variety of different media - typically oils, watercolours, etchings and collage. My subject matter is broad - anything from traditional portraiture, landscapes and architecture to a series of mermaid images with Escher-inspired organic and architectural influences. My fascination with the sea stems from the fact that I am half- Maltese and used frequently to visit the islands during the summer. Malta is known for its spectacular marine life. In recent years I have begun painting designs on furniture and other household objects such as mirrors, bowls and lampshades. This additional interest of mine is a new and exciting arena in which to showcase my art. I have also recently designed a calendar“The Eye Of The Beholder 2015” (£15.99 each) which contains a collection of my more etherial work.
