Hi,

I am 25 years of age and just finished studying a BSc in Zoology at the Liverpool John Moores University.

If you have seen my photostream already then you would have noticed the majority of my photos are of animals and nature. I like to go to Zoos and Wildlife Parks, etc. as frequently as possible in order to get good photographs of their inhabitants.

I have a real interest in birds, bird husbandry and wetland ecosystem conservation. I like all manner of animals, but have a real yearning to work with birds.

Although photographs of people appear on my photostream I'm not a fan of taking portrait photography. Maybe this is because my current photographic hardware is extremely limiting or maybe it is because I have no interest in it. Nevertheless, just because I may not have the interest in taking portrait photos it doesn't mean I don't like looking through them. If anything, I probably like looking through portraiture more than nature photography, probably because I don't want to compare my own photography with that of people who are more photographically educated.

Three of my photos have made it into the public eye, which I am very proud of. The first one, Schmap's Salvadori, has been featured in an on line guide to Manchester. The second photo, Cautious Cuteness, has been featured in an exhibition in an art gallery in Coventry. Finally, my third photograph, The Look of Love, has won Best in Category (Adult) and Best in Competition in Banham Zoo's 2010 photographic competition.

Thank you for reading,

Ciaran.
