I have been following Chuck on Flickr for a few months now. I don’t know Chuck in real life and have not spoken with him outside of Flickr comments, but as many of you artists, photographers, writers, poets, and other creative types know, oftentimes an artist’s collective work will give you a better sense of who the artist is than knowing him, her, or them in day-to-day life can. Chuck appears to enjoy exploring humanity through a visual exploration of our art, architecture, and music, rather than directly. He has a wonderful sense of space, place, composition, and color. He is a perfectionist who not only creates photographs that have simple, effective, and beautiful compositions and colors, but also makes it look easy. Since the earliest shot in his gallery from 2013 – a great one in its own right – he has grown and developed his talent, skills, and craft. It is clear that he continues to work on his art seriously and studiously, but with love and enjoyment. Chuck is an unpretentious artist whose passion for his work and world is both evident and infectious. In that strange way that only some artists have, he has given me the sense that he is a friend of mine, one whose work feels familiar and comforting, but always interesting and engaging. Keep up the good work, Chuck. I am a big fan of yours.
