Profile Update - July 09

Started my first group here on Flickr - Stripes not stripy! to quell my love of taking pictures of stripy shadows - and to see if i'm the only one!!!

So the gear lust got the better of me - I went a brought a Sigma 18-200 lens. It puts me back in my comfort zone of having a wide range of 'reach' from a single lens. It takes some pretty good pictures too, although the AF can be a little slow at times. Got my eye on a 50mm prime now as my wife and I are expecting a baby at the end of the year and I expect to be taking loads of pictures - Should mean i will have to use flash less!!

Profile Update - June 09

Finally made the jump up to a DSLR. Went with the Sony Alpha A350 in the end as it offered the best 'bang-for-buck' given my available budget!

Amazed by the differences a DSLR brings to the party - But mostly loving the speed of the thing - Find myself going for shots that I simply would have ignored before as i knew my Fuji wouldn't have had fast enough reactions!

Trying hard to kerb the 'gear lust' that owning a new camera brings on, and learn to make the best use of what I currently have at my disposal. (I do miss the 300mm pull of my old Fuji though - Even if it was decidedly soft on the long end!)

Apart from that, the rest of my profile still rings true (see below) - Will be taking many more photos over the coming months though!

Just a keen amature with a thirst to take better shots and learn everything I can from as many places as possible. Returning to photography after a couple of years of being put off by using a very limited point and shoot. Recently upgraded my camera and currently can't get enough of clicking that shutter!
