Christopher David Rothecker - Grew up in Saskatchewan and NWT for most of his life. Born March 1971 in Regina SASK CANADA.
I'm a First Nation's cree person from Cumberland House Cree Nation. Currently married to Cindy ROTHECKER and living in Shoal Lake Cree Nation, SASK which is 100km east of Nipawin, SK on HWY 55 inside the northern provincial forest tree line. Surrounded by tall towering pines and poplar and tamarac and lots of water as we are situated inside the Cumberland Inland Delta System - a beautiful eco-system filled with shallow lakes and small channels with plenty of fish and wildlife. Makes fun for boat rides as my Nikimakun ( wife ) loves fishing and skidoo trips in the winter.
I have four wonderful children Buddyblue, Manblue, Daw and Crockett who are the apple of my eye. I also have adopted Bradena, Delaney, Jake, Kyla into my life as well.
I was adopted as a young baby - my paternal parents are Emily LALIBERTE and Leonard COOK ( McKenzie ). I was adopted by a Scottish family in Regina SK by Vincent and Sylvia AITKEN for one year before social services decided to rip me out of their lives and then I was adopted again by the family that raised me for the rest of my childhood Ronald Joseph ROTHECKER ( Lansing MI ) and Linda Louise Gelsinger ( Regina SK ) who got married and adopted me in Regina SK.
During my upbringing my ROTHECKER parents nurtured me into Beavers Cubs Scouts - then onto 107 Sqd Spitfire Air Cadet Squadron in Saskatoon. Then they encouraged me to join 16 SVC BN Saskatoon where i served for two years as a Supply Tech. During my school life, My parents encouraged me to find small jobs - farming - catching chickens - mowing lawns ... that was a lesson my dad taught me to always provided for yourself. I enjoyed making money as a kid and often enjoyed skipping a day of school to take the STC to Saskatoon and spend it on clothing and posters of Oakland A's - everything i earned was dedicated to the OAKLAND A'S. Then attended Nipawin Bible Institute for three years making and learning valuable lessons in life that apply to this day. Then went to become a police officer as a member of the ROYAL CANADIAN MOUNTED POLICE for two years. Then transferred to First Nation Policing in Alberta for 6 years. During this time from 1998 til 2023 I started my hobby as a photographer and made it into a career. For 25 years and counting I have done weddings in 4 countries DOMINICAN REPUBLIC - UK - MEXICO - USA. A wedding that still stands out to this day was the castle wedding in UK ( it was really a fairy tale moment for me ) I have done 320+ weddings and family sessions too many to count.
In 1981 I was in grade 5 i was watching Saturday morning cartoons and there was always an TV commercial on how finding a penpal. So I wrote to them and I got a contact for a girl my age in Denmark. I was hooked. We wrote endlessly sending each other cassette tapes pencils birthday cards pictures make phone calls to each other and did that up to 1991 and we stopped writing. Then another silent phase passed until 2015 when we found each other on Facebook and still keep in contact to this day - so I have had my penpal since 1981-2023 ( present ) that's 42 years !!!
I have many brothers and sisters
I don't think of myself as anybody special or expert - just someone who loves photography -
First picked up my camera at the age of 25 at a pawnshop - haha - Pentax K1000 with 3 manual lenses. Always carried the camera with me for those rare and beautiful moments I have been missing all my life.
I'm a contributor to the following domains in no particular order 1) Cossette Media 2) Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation 3) SaskTourism 4) AlbertaTourism 5)StanTech Edmonton 6)First Nation, Metis, and Inuit Health

Christopher is just a wicked good photographer. I love seeing what this guy creates with his 5D. I have been inspired by his eye for beauty in this world. He sees some really awesome things and captures them in such a brilliant way. I have tried to emulate some of his creative poses in my own work. He is a photographer that is humble yet very talented and just taking off in my opinion. Plus he has great taste in movies. :) -Randy
