I can't stop imagining that if Chris weren't an artist he would be an assassin. Like Bacon, like Klimt, like Artaud, he doesn't like this world, and he shouts it with his own iconoclastic point of view, not exempt from craftiness and fun. His images seem to tell that he doesn't want to lose what almost any domestic adult has lost, the view of a little child. His images are the proof that Art is mainly a redemption. A master in assimilating the distortion and returning it exaggerated, that is what he is. I would like to share those Quay Bros cereals at a breakfast with him and talk and talk.
