I'm getting old and sometimes grumpy ... but not when out with with the camera.

I particularly like landscape and detail. I must admit I tend to home in on detailed elements in a view or shot, and I try to keep composition simple. I am trying to widen my horizons by taking more pictures of people and buildings.

My equipment:- until Summer 2010 Nikon D40X with 50, 18/55 and 55/200 and a Jessops 2X teleconverter (rarely used). Now D90 with 50, 18/105 and 70/300 along with a few screw-on macro lenses.

See my "most interestings" on a dark background at fiveprime.org/flickr_hvmnd.cgi?search_type=User&photo... The first of my sets contains a couple of dozen shots which I consider to be amongst my best and/or most interesting. I intend to change these from time to time.

I tend to post photographs in batches as I'm using flickr as an additional place to store them. So whenever I make a post there are likely to be a number posted at the same time.

I have discovered that contacts improve my appreciation of what makes a good picture. I've a lot to learn, but looking at other folks' work helps define what's good. I will leave comments on photographs from my contacts when I like their work (or when I have constructive criticism). I welcome comments on my photographs. You don't have to be nice about them! Please say if you don't like them (but please also say why). Please don't be upset if you chose to follow me but I don't follow you. I will look from time to time at your work, but can't cope with a massive number of people followed.

All my photographs are my COPYRIGHT but I will neither refuse to allow their use nor charge for use IF ASKED. I will always want to know what they will be used for and will expect to be credited and have my copyright recorded. If I'm not not asked - WATCH OUT!
