Hi Flickr Friends!

 

I am a freelance professional photographer.

 

So what else about me...? Well, I've been taking pictures seriously for 40 years - ever since getting an Olympus OM10 for a joint birthday/Christmas present way back in 1982, when I was just 15 years young. Since then I've snapped photos of virtually anything and everything. However, areas I do enjoy in particular are all types of wildlife, but particularly insect and flower macro; although I've always simply enjoyed walking around and snapping things left right and centre.

 

From the Olympus OM10, I moved through the OM30 and OM40, before switching to Minolta in 1988 (I just fancied a change). I dabbled with Bronica and Mamiya medium format but never really fell in love with the format, then in 1998 switched brands again to Nikon with an F50, then F70, F90, the all manual FM2, and F80... before finally taking the digital plunge in 2002 with a Minolta "bridge" camera. The purchase of a D70 at Christmas 2004 saw my entry into the DSLR world... and over the last 13 years I have progressed through Nikons D40, D3100, D5100, D7000... and am presently shooting with 3 x D7100 bodies - and I just love these awesome cameras!

 

I am happy snapping away at virtually anything I find interesting - and especially the beauty of the natural world around us. Close-up and macro in particular have always fascinated me - a whole new world that we simply aren't aware of until we actually move UP CLOSE!

 

Hopefully my Flickr portfolio will reflect all this as I gradually build up my PhotoStream.

*12/7/17: I am presently in the process of migrating several hundred photos from albums I have accumulated on Facebook (which I have now deactivated) over the last few years. To save time, and to get the photos shared quickly, I have downloaded the actual files from Facebook which strips them of all relevant exif data. To add equipment and exif data to all of these would involve sifting through hundreds of folders from several years of accumulated work. I may get to this over time, but it would take ages and I haven't the immediate time or inclination to pursue this massive, laborious task... BUT, if anyone is curious about equipment/exif data for any particular photo/s, by all means let me know and I will be more than happy to oblige... Any new photos I upload will, of course, include the full equipment/exif data. Thanks.*
