I am a geek, a retired computer technician, and a camera freak, I no longer shoot professionally in my spare time, I am end stage with an autoimmune disease that has ended a lot of things for me.
This pro account will not be renewed in 2027.
At the beginning of the 2011 field hockey season, the Rockingham Redback's asked me if I would be the club photographer. Four years later my family moved to a Premier League club and I now shoot the University of Western Australia Hockey Clubs games. I am self-editing, I always have been so my comments and camera angles are my own. I try not to capture any image that may cause embarrassment or that goes against my own morality standards.
During the indoor hockey seasons, I have been attached to the CT Pirates Indoor Hockey Team and the Wasps. I love indoor hockey.
Add to this a string of Western Australian State junior teams and I have seen the best junior action the sport has to offer. I have also been privileged to photograph both the Kookaburras and the Hockeyroos as they play international teams, so I have seen the best in the sport.
I haven't photographed a hockey game in a long time, with none of my children playing hockey and my health not being the best, my days of standing in the rain shooting a game are over, but I still drag out the cameras when I can and find something to shoot and then when I do I vow to do more of it. I will do more shooting in 2024.
Any photo on this Flickr site can be downloaded free of charge, I recommend downloading in original sizing. The instructions on how to do this are at the end of every set.
At 66 years of age (I just edited my age, I am getting old fast), I am leaving my run at photography a little late, but it's a run I am really enjoying and a good capture makes me smile more than anything I have ever done.
