If you have seen our photostream, I'm sure it's already very apparent what my favorite photo subjects are: our 2 shelties, Chloe and Bella. They were actually the reason (excuse?) that I first got a DSLR. After all, I couldn't miss photos of their puppyhood, right?
Since then, it has been a wonderful journey learning everything I can about photography and of course, taking as many photos as I can. Although the majority of photos in this stream will be of Chloe and Bella, I do enjoy taking pictures of other dogs we meet, our vacations, and really, anything else that catches my eye.
A little about our favorite subjects: Chloe and Bella are Shetland Sheepdogs (Shelties) and were born on 5/1/2009. We have had them since they were 8 weeks of age. They both are extremely intelligent dogs and need a lot of activity, so we end up taking them on hiking trips quite often. This is where I end up taking most of my pictures.
As for personalities, Chloe and Bella couldn't be further apart. Chloe is very outgoing and greets everyone with a big smile. Her favorite thing is meeting new people, and she actually goes out of her way to try anything new. Bella, on the other hand, is very cautious around new things. She is without a doubt, the smartest dog I have ever been around though. She spots even the most minute changes in the environment around her and focuses on them until she figures out what it is. We call her "the Professor". She's the type of dog that hangs back and watches while all the other dogs play around her. Even though they have very different personalities, they are best friends and sisters. They get along great and keep each other entertained. Perhaps you can see some of their personalities in the photos. People always ask how to tell them apart... well, Chloe has more white on her face and has one brown leg and one white leg in front. Bella has a darker face and both white legs in front.
If you enjoy any of our pictures, feel free to comment or even add us as a contact. We love hearing others' opinions, good or bad. And we view the whole photography hobby as a giant learning process, so any constructive criticism is always appreciated. Thanks for visiting!
