I am an enthusiastic amateur photographer. Most of the time I use a Nikon D80 - a wonderful, reliable piece of equipment producing high quality images.

I do strive for some artistic quality in my photos. There are hundreds of flower photos, for instance, that might be useful for botanical documentation, but I don´t put all of them into Flickr because I want to maintain a certain level of quality ...

I am obsessed with identifying the flora and fauna I photograph, but I am also very much aware of the need to just see and perceive what is there ... beauty, without wanting to know...

So far, I have focused mostly on flowers, nature, landscapes and architecture, but I would very much like to expand into people photography.

I shoot almost only RAW, and process all my images in Adobe Lightroom (now LR 3.6), and only rarely in Photoshop Elements.

I do like groups (and am creator of one myself), but I don´t place my photos into groups much now, as I did before, since I don´t like(a) the obligatory comment rules of many of them, and (b) the ugly awards, flashy animated GIFs, and other visual pollution that many of those groups use. (I have now discovered a Greasemonkey script that hides such comments).
