another story immediately brings to mind a bounty of complimentary words: thoughtful, perceptive, insightful, considerate, kind, and funny as hell. and that's all just from her comments! her photos and the writings that accompany them are absolutely top notch. she clearly has the fire in her soul of a passionate and talented photojournalist. while special mention has to be made of her mountain landscapes (which she makes her own) and black and white portraits (sensational), she also finds the extraordinary in all sorts of subjects. she'll be all humble about it, but this is one seriously impressive photostream, and dana is one terrifically neat person.

Dana´s images are filled with a sense of seeing the moments magic. In people´s faces or in nature. Her images tell a wonderful story of love and understanding. One of my favorite photographers on flickr. Keep going!

I have seen a lot of photographs and have come across a lot of photographers on flickr…many of them have inspired my photographic journey so far with stunning landscapes, portraits, macros et al…but none have had the impact that Danas work has had on me…a creative and a proficient photographer in her own right…she makes the images her own with the strong subjects and by sharing the stories behind her images..her Africa images and the words that go with them are truly of amazing photojournalistic quality….mind blowing and mind opening…it strikes a chord with me especially having been familiar with somewhat conditions and the stories being told through her images…there is a sense of learning and compassion that shines through her work…speaks volumes of her as a person. Powerful, emotional, compelling and more than anything..personal in so many different levels. No matter where we are from in this world, there is a common bond of love , humanity and compassion that is common to us all..thats what her work represents…there Is so much to be learnt from her work…about traveling..sharing..loving and compassion.. I have always believed that we should travel to places where we least want to…it broadens the mind and the heart and makes us appreciate what we have and so very often take for granted..and her work is a fitting testimonial to that belief of mine..enlightening and touching in so many ways. So thank you Dana for sharing your work and being the beautiful person that you are… always an inspiration ...it is a true honor to be your friend. Truly.. Another Story.

Dana asked me in one of her comments on a photo I'd posted how I kept "doing these wonderful things" with a particular photographic subject. I could just as easily ask her how she keeps doing the wonderful things she does with the people she meets in person or, as in my case, on flickr. I've met a lot of people who have merely settled into some way or another of looking at the world. Not Dana. I rather doubt that she is capable of "just settling." Instead, she is intentionally, purposefully and selflessly grounded in the way she sees. It is a joy and great comfort to me to know there are people like her in the world. And what, you may be wondering, has any of this to do with her photography? Everything, really. She brings to it her sense of what is in the world -- both what is wanting in some way and what is wondrous in ways that defy words. She conveys in it a solid sense of what is true and what matters. She asks in it for a moment of our time and attention and we are better off for having granted her this small request.
