I'm a 65 year old man that enjoys old cars, fast boats, nature, abandoned houses, travel, photography, vintage everything, and just about anything mechanical.
I'm lucky enough to now live in a place where I can indulge all of these interests.
I started my serious interest in photography in 1980 with a Mamiya 35mm camera, and even had my own darkroom.
In the mid 90's I bought my first digital camera, a fixed focus Kodak DC20. It was pretty bad by today's standards, but as technology improved I would upgrade every couple of years.
Eventually, the SLR stayed on the shelf and I became a "picture taker" instead of a "photographer". I couldn't afford the professional DSLR digital cameras of the time, so I've stayed in the kiddy pool. Most of my photos since then have been family pictures and touristy stuff.
Thanks to Flickr, I've rediscovered my appreciation of photography.
I'm learning that the camera is not what makes a photographer. Some of the most clever and creative work I've seen here, was shot with a camera phone.
I like seeing the world through "Photographer Goggles" again.
It makes me look for the beauty or interest in the world around me.
I appreciate constructive criticism and comments on my photos.
Thanks for looking!
