Hi, I’m Andrea. Or Chipi. Or EMPTY.

My heart is between Madrid, Almería, Logroño, Barcelona and London. My first real vivid memory is in the back of a car, at night, while my parents drove up north. So I could say I've spent half of my life in a car on the highway. I love travelling. I also love coffee.

Music is everything. I play the piano and guitar, and I love both instruments. I have a thousand notebooks, well not that many. I use them all. They are full of important things, sayings, tickets, drawings, whatever. Ballet and yoga relax me and I love to draw. I read a lot. I also spend a lot of time on the internet – which is not THAT good – but it's inspiring. I love banana milkshakes and crêpes au chocolat. I love cupcakes too. I love cooking. I love “love” as a feeling, when you feel it. Illustration has become one of the most important things in my life. I gave up skating some time ago but now discovered the pleasure of longboarding. I love rainy afternoons, and I hate studying things I’m not interested in. I love numbers, 3 & 13 are on top of my list. San José is the magik place. You should come one day. I usually watch the stars at night when I’m there. Blythe are something like an obsession for me, since 2005. Though I didn’t have my first big Blythe until January 2008. I love all the Blythes I have. Some of my friends don’t. I was obsessed with Emily Strange a few years ago too. I dressed up as her once, in Halloween. I still read her comics. I also like Jeffrey Brown and Liz Prince comics. And Gus. And some others. I love simple comics. I think Sylvia Plath is AMAZING. I love her poetry beyond every existing poetry. I work/study better past midnight, dunno why. I don’t mind waiting on the phone until the person I’m calling picks it up... or not. I don’t get anxious waiting. I just… wait. Although I actually hate talking on the phone. I’ve learnt to be patient, though sometimes it’s difficult. I love taking the bus back home from Gran Vía at night, while I listen to Such Great Heights, by The Postal Service. It makes me cry. I always cry. I don’t care if someone looks. I love languages, wish I could speak all of them. I have, and always will, a HUGE love for Red Hot Chili Peppers. And for Underoath, and for Alexisonfire. And for PJ Harvey and for Yeah Yeah Yeahs, City and Colour, Fleet Foxes, Frank Ocean and a loooooong etc. And for Psycho, directed by Alfred Hitchcock. And for Being John Malcovich, directed by Spike Jonze. And for Junk, written by Melvin Burgess. And for Harry Potter, of course. THEY ALL changed EVERYTHING. As cinema did. I will always be thankful for that. For all the hard, but fun times we had filming. Thank you. I watch A LOT of TV series. Maybe too many, but I don't care. When I do I don't get to think about life that much. Twin Peaks and Skins and The Killing and My Mad Fat Diary are the best I've watched so far. Driving and longboarding when the sun is setting. I like to listen to the “click” of the camera, I like to see the result and think about it. Or not think about it. It might be better not to think about it. I also like moving images. I like when all those images transmit everything you once dreamed of, or when they transmit something you have never felt before… to be able to travel with them… I can keep secrets. I like to write significant words or lyrics on top of photographs. I had a dream. We should walk on the clouds sometime. We should get that train to infinity. My dream is to work in a film set forever.

Oh, one last thing. My favourite word in the world is pingüino, which is pronounced something like "pinwinou", and means penguin in spanish.

For those who don't know her, she's Chipi. And she is tenderness' personification. Her smile is so warm and sweet you just can't stop smiling too. While taking pictures, she's like a rainbow - she always knows how to shoot the perfect one in order to make you feel small and adore what you see instantly. By the way, don… Read more
