Since 1912, Children's Hospital & Research Center Oakland is proud to be one of only 45 freestanding, independent children's hospitals in the nation. Through regional primary and subspecialty networks, our hospital-based physicians provide expert care in 31 pediatric sub-specialties, from adolescent medicine to urology. We are also a nationally recognized, global resource for advanced pediatric research and medical education, and one of the largest sickle cell treatment and research centers in the world.
