My name is Chikaodinaka Christine Moses, but just call me Chika. I'm a Nigerian... born and raised in one of the toughest cities in the world, Lagos city. It's been dubbed "survival of the fittest," and it's true - if you can survive growing up in Lagos you can make it anywhere =D
There's this story about Lagos that ever lasgidi is fond of. See, when you travel about the country and are about to enter a different State, you see a sign that says "Welcome to..." but when you come to Lagos, the sign doesn't read "welcome" instead it reads "This is Lagos." Sort of a "get in or get out, but we don't care" vibe about it. Anyway, I miss it.
I came to the United States on the 25th of May 2002. It was a big move for me since I was alone and 17. My journey to the United States was in pursuit of my dreams to get the best education. I attended Columbia College Chicago, where I studied Television Effects and Post-production. And by God's grace, I hope to attend CUNY Graduate School of Journalism next year. That would be ideal!
After that, I return to my city and see where life leads. I'm not a really cool photographer or anything, but I have a fondness for pictures, and will upload my favorites.
