Chicago born and bred... digs cities, movies, Old School Funk/Neo Soul/Hip Hop, jazz...Most importantly: Father of three beautiful daughters.

One more thing: I'll block ya---I'll block ya good--if you fave my pix, but have none of your own to show. And if your stream consists of screen grabs of other people's work, I'll block ya good there, too. Otherwise, enjoy.

And he's a great guide to the architecture of Chicago. The two hours we spent with him walking around downtown was like a whole term in a university class! Someday he will get a medal or the key to the city I predict, for all the love and care he brings to the built environment. He also has an eye for the beautiful in many other ways as well! ;-)

This guy inspires me! He's taken so many wonderful photographs and captured our city in his own unique way. Through his lens we all experience Chicago... the good and the grubby, but all of it wonderful and rich. Thank you for sharing with us ChicagoEye!

Lee Bey was one of my first flickr friends, and his photos never fail to inspire me to hone my skills as an amateur photographer. He documents Chicago life in a way that makes me proud to be a native Chicagoan, and on top of it all he is a cool individual. Big ups to you, Lee!

I have been a member of Flickr since the beginning of '06 and while exploring some of the membership I immediately fell in love with Lee's shots. When I am online and viewing Flickr, I am always taken back by the shots that Lee has taken in the Chicago area. He has mastered the urban setting from buildings to the people of the urban center. There is something to be said about humanity and I believe that Lee's pictures say just that. It has often been said that a picture is worth a thousand words. I think I could write a book on ChicagoEye's pictures. Keep inspiring!!!

I'm not sure what I can add that hasn't already been said. Lee is definitely an inspiration to me and as we came to know each other a little better, I learned we share a love of BW photography. He has some of the most inspiring photos on Flickr and through him, I feel as though I know his hometown as a native would. He has a gift for showing 'real people' the people we see everyday, the ones we might just past right by without noticing. I think that's the sign of one gifted with the sight and I'm glad he allows the rest of us to live vicariously through him. Lee is inspirational and the nice thing about getting to know him has been learning that no matter how much fame he's attained or how many people know his name, he's amazingly down to earth. Thanks for sharing. You give the rest of us something to shoot for.

Lee is one of the two people on Flicker whose photographs I look forward to so much, when new ones appear, I go there before anything else (including comments on my own!). His love for Chicago and its people are obvious and he has an uncanny knack for capturing the private details in public moments.

Always interesting, often fun, and over-modest (extemely amateur photographer indeedy! Change that profile sir!) PS added June2005 - you have to check out the vintage ads and funk album sleeves collection. People of a certain age will appreciate their past being brought back with such love and good humour, while youngsters will just shake their heads and chuckle at how uncool their parents must have been ;-)
